British
The Bed Sitting Room (1969)
FiC Rating: 4/5
Dir: Richard Lester
Why FiC recommends?
1) A wonderfully bonkers Post-Nuke Comedy set in Britain, where the BBC has been reduced to one man and the Circle Line is still in operation. This must be one of the most original, bizarre, and imaginative dystopian films ever made.
2) It mixes great comedy with a very serious and important issue, the ending is one of my favourite in movie history. A Timeless classic and absurdist delight not to be missed.
Searching For Sugar Man/2012/English
FiC Rating: 4/5
Dir: Malik Bendjelloul
Why FiC recommends?
1) Time and again documentaries have proven that real life can be stranger than fiction. This is one such story of two fans who set about to find their musical idol whose life is nothing short of an enigma.
2) The songs throughout the feature adds beautifully to the atmosphere of the proceedings and can be counted as another leading character in itself.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri/2017/ British
FiC Rating: 3.5/5
Dir: Martin McDonagh
Setting: Urban/Outskirts
Why FiC recommends?
1) Although the falls short of being a masterpiece by some small loopholes in the writing, the movie provides a lot of things and stands up to the expectations.
2) There was genuinely no predicting what the characters were going to do and how they would react to certain events. This unpredictability doesn’t just apply to situations, but possibly more notable in character arcs.
